MassCOSH and MA AFL-CIO - Worker Memorial Day ceremony to remember those who died from preventable workplace injuries and illnesses and to fight for safer, healthier workplaces. The COVID-19 pandemic has shone a light on how dangerous it is when employers do not provide life-saving health & safety protections for workers. As we pass the one-year mark of the beginning of the pandemic, this year's Worker Memorial Day event will honor the memories of workers who lost their lives due to their jobs, whether from COVID-19, a workplace injury, or other work-related illnesses. Each year Oregon’s unions gather in Salem to honor those who died while working or from work-related injuries and illness and pledge to do everything within our power to make work safe. Knoxville, April 24th, 11am (ET), Church of the Savior, 934 Weisgarber Road Hybrid Event

Join the Knox Area Workers' Memorial Day Committee, Interfaith Worker Justice, Knoxville-Oak Ridge AFL-CIO and Eastern TN Jobs with Justice for an event to honor workers who died from COVID contracted at work, workers in East Tennessee who died on the job in 2020 and Kingston Coal Ash Cleanup Workers who have died. The observance will be held outside. PLEASE WEAR A MASK AND BRING A CHAIR. (In case of rain the program will be held inside with social distancing.)
